It does seem by turns challenging and silly and I hate writing to set rules buuuut I must say the times that I attempted exercises from it it did push me out of my comfort zone...and I found that the exercises far from being random started to unlock a narrative (and characters) I'd been ignoring for a while potentially jump starting a new book project. No matter the exercise I kept coming back to these characters and the situations I was forced to put them in started revealing them to me (if that makes any sense). Anyway, I did, in the end, find it helpful. Though I haven't got through all of the exercises; far from.Joannehttp://www.jhohadli.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5594341074652821017.post-5487778125394096642012-09-04T14:41:38.642-04:002012-09-04T14:41:38.642-04:00This all sounds silly to me. If you're a short story writer and have a word count, this one does nothing but waste an opportunity.

Sunny Frazierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03693884364418711551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5594341074652821017.post-63589097180016819082012-09-04T05:56:31.358-04:002012-09-04T05:56:31.358-04:00You have to think of different ways to use words, ...You have to think of different ways to use words, different words to use to construct sentences. The idea is not to become permanently e-less, but to be more flexible about and aware of how and why you choose and use words. (That said, I chose that example because I find the exercise particularly annoying.)

Create a setting without using a single visual descriptor is a more traditional exercise for doing much the same thing.KeVin K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14792797517571690942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5594341074652821017.post-34859219446491370092012-09-04T01:54:16.792-04:002012-09-04T01:54:16.792-04:00Tell me Kevin, what exactly does writing a story w...Tell me Kevin, what exactly does writing a story without a single 'e' do for one's writing? No wonder so many agents and editors (I've read) are wary of submissions by writers who wave their CW-MFA credentials at them.

That said, learning and growing and honing one's craft is never a bad thing.Liane Spicerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05035607144500219524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5594341074652821017.post-62720551394358510892012-09-03T12:48:34.143-04:002012-09-03T12:48:34.143-04:00I know thіѕ if off tοрic but I'm looking into ...I know thіѕ if off tοрic but I'm looking into starting my own blog and was curious what all is required to get set up?
