I...I remember the first time I went to Shore Leave. I couldn't get off from work so I got to my brother-in-law's place in DC about 2AM Saturday & got up at 7 to get to Baltimore. Got there frazzled, caffeinated, and intimidated. In the first 30 minutes I was there Inge Heyer greeted me like I was the guest she'd been waiting for; some a woman literally stopped me, hand on my chest, to read my name tag, then dug a copy of SNW IV out of her rolling suitcase for me to autograph (KRAD had alerted me to the sig thing & I'd practiced a hieroglyph I forgot to use); and Marco Palmieri introduced me to a group of Names as "one of our writers." Ran outside to call Valerie. Spent the rest of the day acting like a fan.KeVin K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14792797517571690942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5594341074652821017.post-59659850144079985772012-12-17T12:06:35.537-05:002012-12-17T12:06:35.537-05:00Good. You two can let me borrow one the next time we're all at a con together ;)

Given how easy it is to scan a signature and insert it into something else, and the increased use of scanned/faxed copies of docs for various legal transactions, having a different signature seems prudent. In my case, it also helps that I go by my middle name in addition to using it as my "writer's name." My first name and its use in my legal signature is solely for the "official stuff."
